Sympak Group Delivers Plant for Kraft Foods in Bahrain
Corporate News 5/22/2008
Processed Cheese Factory Goes into Operation
At the end of 2006, Corazza, based in Bologna, Italy, and STEPHAN Machinery from Hameln, Germany – both Sympak Group companies – were contracted to deliver a turnkey plant for the production of processed cheese. Production got underway after successful trial runs in December 2007 and January 2008. The quick and successful kick off of operations at this large facility is the result of the smooth teamwork provided by all areas of Sympak Group. While STEPHAN was responsible for the processing equipment and the reliable UHT plant, Corazza was given the task of providing the complete filling and packaging line needed to produce processed cheese in both cans and jars.
Sympak Process Engineering, from Schwarzenbek, Germany (near Hamburg), provided project management, delivery of the CIP equipment, construction at the site as well as the launch itself. Kraft Foods was prudent in bringing Sympak Group on board: with its companies Corazza, STEPHAN und Sympak Process Engineering, it is the only group that can deliver turn key solutions along the entire process, from the procurement of raw materials to the packaged product.
With its plant in Bahrain, Kraft Foods was one of the first 30 companies to invest a total of 90 million US dollars in the Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP). In choosing the participating companies for BIIP, Bahrain made an important step towards delivering on its ambitious targets for the future: ecause, as Bahraini Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hassan Fakhro said at the opening ceremony of the Kraft plant, thanks to political factors and its excellent infrastructure, Bahrain will be the economic center of the Gulf states in the foreseeable future.
