Today’s lightweight PET bottles expand due to the pressure required to fill carbonated beverages. The expansion will vary depending upon the carbonation levels of the different products, which affects the bottle’s fill volume. Conventional vent tube type fillers will deliver a fill volume range within a standard deviation of ±15 ml in a 2-liter container. Volmaster RS offers up to 80% improvement in volume variances. The volume deviation in a 2-liter container is reduced ±1.5 ml. This reduces loss and improves yield.

PET Bottles
The volume of a PET bottle can vary as a result of changes in raw material and in variations of storage time due to shrinkage.
